WHY UP↑SCALE › FOR WHAT? › SCALE TEST SUITE
A full scale test suite - at the scale, on your tablet
Every test of OIML R 76-1 Annex A that can be done at the scale, guided step by step, with the limits worked out for the class of your scale - and a report you can sign. For owners who want to know, and for technicians and inspectors who test for others.
What it saves you
The tests
| Test | What it checks | Limit (in short) |
|---|---|---|
| Repeatability R 76-1 A.4.10 | the same load several times - the spread (6 / 3 weighings by class for a verification, 10 for a type examination) | mpe of the class |
| Accuracy & linearity A.4.4 | weighing up and down with the loads of the standard (Min, the mpe change points, Max); best-fit line deviation | mpe at each load |
| Eccentricity | the same load in the corners and the middle | mpe at the load |
| Tare | weighing after a tare | mpe of the net load |
| Zero-setting A.4.2.3.1 | load on, zero-set, the reading at zero; and the zero indicator | ± 0.25 e |
| Discrimination A.4.8.2 | at Min, ½ Max and Max: adding 1.4 d must change the reading (type examination, d ≥ 5 mg) | the reading follows |
| Creep & zero return A.4.11 | a load for 30 minutes (or the 4 h alternative), then zero | ≤ 0.5 e (30 min), ≤ 0.2 e (15-30 min), zero return ≤ 0.5 e |
| Warm-up A.5.2 | zero and load at 0, 5, 15 and 30 minutes after switching on (after 8 hours off) | mpe |
| Stable equilibrium A.4.12 | a disturbance, then the first stable signal: the values of 5 s | spread ≤ 1 e |
| Calibration check | known weights against the reading | your limits |
Every test and its result on the screen is free. Each test runs with the filters it needs: raw values, or the legal display "as used" where the standard asks for it.
Manual: the tests, filters per test, eccentricity, calibration check
The limits are worked out for you
- the accuracy classes (I, II, III, IIII) that fit d, e and Max of your scale - also for every range of a multi-interval scale
- the maximum permissible errors at each load, for verification and in use
- the uncertainty of the readings (the rounding to d), the test-weight tolerance (R 111, 1/3 of the mpe), the room temperature change and the warm-up time
- every rule shown as ✓ met, ✗ not met or ? not known - nothing hidden
- the maths is checkable: the reference cases of the validation are public
A checklist per procedure
The overview shows what is done, with which result, and which test is asked for:
- Verification / conformity assessment - the tests of R 76-1 Annex A
- Inspection in use - a typical set (the national rules decide)
- Calibration - along EURAMET cg-18: repeatability, eccentricity, errors of indication
Manual: checklist
The strict procedure
One switch, and the suite follows Annex A to the letter: the loads of the standard, a preload to Max, the legal display with the ΔL input at every row (changeover point, A.4.4.3), repeatability with the number of weighings of the class, the warm-up time from the uptime of the scale, the tolerance of your test weights and the temperatures - with its own checklist in the report.
Manual: strict procedure
Reports ENTERPRISE
- Test report per test - print, PDF, HTML, CSV with all readings
- Final report on certificate-style pages: scale data and settings, checklist, summary per procedure, all tables with the single readings, the class overview, date, signature, stamp and remarks
- Your data on every printout: name, organisation, inspector ID, place, report number, remarks and a signature drawn once on the screen
- Numbered and sealed by the scale - checkable on up-scales.com/check
- Test history and register on the scale: interval, due date, trend
Compared with the usual way
| Test weights + paper form | UP↑SCALE | |
|---|---|---|
| Readings | read and written by hand | taken from the scale when stable |
| Limits | looked up in tables | worked out for the class, shown per rule |
| Forgotten tests | possible | the checklist shows what is open |
| The report | typed later | ready at the scale, numbered and sealed |
What it is not
- A test record the signing person is responsible for - never an official verification or certificate, no forms or logos of an authority
- It does not replace your reference weights, your procedure or your decision
- With the RS-232 adapter on a verified scale the display of that scale stays the legal reading; the adapter is no part of the legal measuring chain
- Whether a record is accepted is the decision of the responsible authority
