WHY UP↑SCALE › FOR WHAT? › SEALED SALES RECORDS
Sales records the scale numbers, chains and seals
When you sell by weight, the question of an inspector is simple: where does this number come from, and is the list complete? With UP↑SCALE the scale itself answers it - every sale numbered, chained to the one before, with the weight the scale measured and the counters of its calibration.
How it works
- You book a sale in the sales mode: the stable weight, the product, the lot, the price - one confirmation.
- The scale checks the weight: it compares the booking with its own stable reading (minus the container of the app) and saves its own value - the app only proposes it. A weight typed in by hand (e.g. a pre-packed bag) is marked as manual. A zero or minus weight is never booked.
- The record gets a number of the scale (1, 2, 3 ... never used twice) and the fingerprint of the record before it (SHA-256).
- It is saved on the scale - 366 days, the same for every connected device.
- For an inspection: the 🔏 sealed report of a period, as a sealed PDF (with the JSON of all records inside) or CSV / JSON with the seal of the scale. ENTERPRISE

What every record holds
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Number, ID | the running number of the scale and the record ID |
| Date and time | local and UTC, from the clock of the app |
| Device ID | which scale (adapter) made it |
| Kind | sale, or for clubs harvest / dried / destroyed |
| Product, PLU, lot | the THING, its PLU (a unit named PLU) and the lot number |
| Member ID or note | for clubs and shops with customer IDs |
| User | who booked it |
| Gross, tare, net | tare with its type: T weighed on the scale, PT preset (the container of the app); net in the unit of the sale with its d |
| Pieces, unit price, total | in the currency of your sales log |
| Checked by the scale | yes / no (manual weight, or sent again later) |
| Counters | the calibration and the configuration counter at the booking |
| THC / CBD | mg, for cannabis clubs |
| Chain | the fingerprint linking it to the record before |
The checks on top of the report
- The chain: a changed, inserted or removed record breaks it
- Missing numbers: deleted or lost records show up - the activity log shows the deletion
- Not checked by the scale: records sent again later, or typed in by hand
- Counter changes inside the period: between which records and on which day the scale was calibrated or configured
- The instrument: firmware, the counters now and your certificate data (CE / notified body, OIML / EU type examination, NTEP CC) - also at the bottom of every other report
- The seal: anybody can check the file on up-scales.com/check
Built along the record points of the standards
| Standard | Record point | In the record |
|---|---|---|
| NIST Handbook 44 | audit trail with event counters for calibration and configuration | both counters per record, changes listed |
| OIML R 76 | gross / tare / net, tare marked T or PT | gross, tare + type, net |
| WELMEC Guide 7.2 | event logger; the legally relevant weight comes from the scale; records protected | the weight of the scale, numbered, chained, sealed |
Built along them - not certified, and our own scales have no type approval. With the RS-232 adapter on a verified scale in EXACT WEIGHT, the weight is the one of that scale.
Compared with the usual ways
| POS app, weight typed in | Label scale with its own memory | UP↑SCALE | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weight from the scale | no | yes | yes, checked by the scale |
| Numbered, chained | rarely | sometimes | yes, SHA-256 |
| Calibration counters in the record | no | rarely | yes |
| Checkable by anybody | no | no | yes, sealed |
| Costs | a monthly fee | a new scale | once, on your scale |
The limits - honestly
- Not a fiscal export - no DSFinV-K (Germany) or SAF-T: those belong to a certified cash register with its own security module. No payment method, no tax: your cash register stays separate and can take the CSV / JSON.
- Tamper-evident, not write-once - keep the exports on read-only, backed-up storage. How it works
- The time comes from the connected phone or computer.
