LICENCES

Licences: the UP↑SCALE software and the parts of other authors

The UP↑SCALE firmware and the UP↑SCALE app are proprietary software: all rights belong to their owner, you get a licence to use them. They contain parts of other authors, which are used under their own (open source) licences - all listed below.

The UP↑SCALE software licence in short

  • Free version: install the firmware on your own devices and use the free functions, privately and for your business.
  • PRO and ENTERPRISE: a licence key for one board (its Device ID), for the time you paid for. On a broken board it moves to the replacement.
  • Your data is yours: keep, use and export all records without limits.
  • Not allowed without a written permission: copying or passing on the software, changing it, using parts of it in your own products, reverse engineering, getting around the licence keys.
  • Resellers, partners, exclusive rights: only with a separate written agreement - ask us: our e-mail address (picture)
  • Not certified, not legal for trade, no medical device: the software is a tool. You check the results that matter, make backups of your data and follow the rules of your trade.
  • No warranty, limited liability: the software comes "as is"; we are not liable for lost data, production problems or lost profit, as far as the law allows.
  • Your rights by law stay: e.g. the backup copy and the interoperability rights of the EU, and the consumer rights of your country.

The full text counts, not this summary: up-scale-software-licence.txt. Every licence order comes with it, and you accept it when you order.

Parts of other authors

These parts are used under their own licences. Nothing in the UP↑SCALE licence limits your rights under them. The copyright lines and the full licence texts are in third-party-notices.txt.
