The scale for coffee roasters and cafés
From the sack of green coffee to the 250 g bag and the perfect shot: roasters weigh all day. UP↑SCALE turns your scales into a roast-loss log, a bag-filling line with ℮ statistics, a label station - and a coffee scale for the bar.
What helps you most
1Roast loss of every batch
Weigh the green coffee before the roast and the beans after: the weighing log with a lot number per batch keeps both, and the difference is your roast loss (usually 12-20 %). Save every origin as a THING with its price - and the cost per kg of roasted coffee follows from the loss. Want to follow a cooling or degassing over hours? The tracking mode records the weight curve by itself.

2Filling bags - with ℮ statistics TEST IN FREEPRO
Filling 250 g, 500 g and 1 kg bags? The check-weighing shows every bag as PERFECT / TOO LESS / TOO MUCH and logs it by itself. The ℮ prepackage control checks your lot against the legal rules with the EU sample plan and prints the lot report; the statistics show how much coffee you give away with every overfilled bag.

3Labels with origin, roast date and lot
Your label with the origin, the roast date (as your own text or the date line), the lot number, the net weight, the price and an EAN-13 code - printed for each bag right after weighing, on your label printer. A small lot code lets any customer read lot and date with the phone camera.

4Stock of green and roasted coffee TEST IN FREEPRO
Sacks, bins and buckets in the inventory: weigh them, and you see the stock per origin with its value - and the loss against what was roasted and sold. The stock lives on the scale, the whole team sees the same.

5Espresso and pour-over at the bar
On the bar the same app is a coffee scale: shot timer with flow rate, brew ratio, auto start and stop, the guided pour-over mode, a log of every brew - and the target yield with an early stop that learns how much still drips. With the Decent Scale protocol it works with espresso apps and machines that support it. Dial in a new roast and keep the recipe as a THING. PRO (early stop)

Tips from the practice
- One lot per roast batch - the lot generator of the scale can put the date and a counter into the number.
- Big scale for the sacks, fine scale for the bar - both in the same app.
- Check the bag filling with your verified scale (RS-232 adapter with EXACT WEIGHT).
The rules you should know
- Coffee bags with a nominal quantity are prepackages: 76/211/EEC (℮), in Germany FPackV - checked with a verified scale
- Food labels: EU regulation 1169/2011 (net quantity, best before, lot)
No legal advice - ask your weights and measures office about your setup.
